TFNC, which stands for ‘time for new clothes’ was created by 5 brothers in London, in 1978. Each brother was tasked into looking after a particular activity in the business: marketing, retail, logistics, design and manufacturing. The Walji brothers took their label from one small flagship store in the buzzy Kings Road, Chelsea and transformed it into the international brand you see today. The company first expanded into 5 outlets which grew successfully, and they saw an opportunity to house their label within department stores. Demand for the label grew, and they became a well-known brand across the UK’s most successful shops – both in-store and online. In 2001, the brand added the WalG collection to their label and later followed with 'lace and beads' and 'skirt and stiletto' lines. The company was named one of the top 5 best-selling dress brands by Drapers Record, and are historically one of the most popular concessions in Topshop’s infamous Oxford Street branch. Today, their online retail division continues to grow, with design houses across Europe and clothing manufactured around the world for an international following. Their signature dress, the Paris Sequin, remains a number-one best-seller.
